I have a Dalmation who I love dearly... all but his hair which is everywhere! The Dirt Dog is great. Simple quick and it really does hit everywhere and pick up everything. definitely the best for dogs!
Great on hardwood, vinyl, and area rugs August 13, 2008

Picks up sand, dirt, and short dog hair with no problem on my hardwood and vinyl floors! Also does a decent job on the area rugs at getting the dog hair, although I still need to vacuum those with the upright to get sand/dirt that's fallen below the surface fibers.
My only complaint is its noise. It seems awfully loud for such a little thing, but I guess it's no louder than most upright, manual vacuums. At least you can shut it in a room to get away from the noise unlike normal vacuums.
I highly recommend this product if you have similar floors. It is definitely worth the price and certainly is cheaper than most other Roombas!

This is pretty much the best way to spend a hundred bucks. I don't have any carpeting in my house, just wood, tile, and slate. Dirt Dog tackles all three surfaces with ease. He cleans much more thoroughly than I ever would; when it is done, the floors gleam. I have had no problems at all, it is very simple to remove and empty the receptacle bin, and clear off the brushes now and then. I show it to all my friends, and recommend it highly, it is fun to watch the sophisticated programming in use as it avoids objects and still cleans every inch of the floor. It even has a side brush to push dirt and dog hair and grass clippings out of corner and along edges so he can gobble them up with the main sweeper bristles. A must have. If you were considering getting one, I highly recommend you take the chance.

This is my 4th IRobot product. We got this one for our pool deck where we BBQ and smoke meats. He does a great job cleaning up the ashes from the cooking. We have some potted plants out there and he cleans up the leaves and debris from the decorative plants. Our cats dig in the plants and leave dirt and track cat litter on the deck. He does a really fine job of getting the dirt, cat litter and cat cat hair. The built in cliff warning has prevented him from taking a swim in our pool.

Decided to try out the dirt dog because of the great price and the horrendous amount of excess hair my dog produces in a day (not too mention the child and cat adding to the mix)! We have a 1600 sqft condo with all hardwoods and the dirt dog gets the job done. Saves me a ton of time vacuuming. I work from home so I can just move it around the house as needed. It rarely gets caught up and the compartment holds a ton of fur. Only downside is the battery life, wish it lasted longer, but not too big a deal since I'm typically home to plug it back in. Great product, great price.
