Product Description iRobot Roomba RED Cordless Robotic Vacuum Cleaner - Wouldn't be nice to have a robot servant? It's not science fiction anymore. Roomba is the first practical robot for your home. It vacuum cleans floors all by itself roaming through your room like a pet, sucking dirt and dust all along its path. There are no cords or wires. It simply runs on a rechargeable battery. Red is the Roomba that attracts. While all Roombas work hard and eliminate dirt, it's Red that gets the stares. What's more, behind the beautiful design is a vacuuming robot that does what Roombas do: it cleans. So...to help reduce the monotony of cleaning your floors, get a Roomba. It goes where no vacuum has gone before.

iRobot August 14, 2008 S. Olinger (Richmond, VA) I wasn't sure if I would like this or not but it is great. It easily goes from hardwood floors to carpeting and does a good job on both surfaces. I just run it in one or two rooms a day and recharge it. If there is a drawback it would be that it isn't quiet so I turn it on when no one is watching TV or radio in that particular room. Even my dog has accepted it. Now I am tempted to try the floor scrubber. I also worried it would tumble down the stairs but it senses the stairs and turns around....what will we have next?
should be great July 31, 2008 L. Honea I ordered this red Roomba in February 2008. It worked well for about 3 weeks and then the brush stoped turning. I cleaned everything and when that did not work I called iRobot support and they sent me a new one. The next one lasted 2 weeks and started just going in circles and beeping. The carpet the Roomba was cleaning was not shag and not very dirty and I cleaned the Roomba after every use. Very poor quality product. Its also almost completely made from hard plastic, so one good drop could break it.
Maybe it's just not for me... June 17, 2008 Sherry Jones (LaVergne, TN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this as a Christmas gift and was very disappointed. It seemed to only pick up small amounts of dirt (leaving visable dirt behind) and was constantly getting "stuck" under the sofa and loveseat. It became such a pain that I returned it and got another regular vacuum cleaner.
Not available May 31, 2008 Helen M. Ziga (Marietta, GA United States) My husband ordered this for me a week before Mother's Day and it's over a month past. He had to track down the company a few times to find out what was up with the order and finally got a reply saying that they were having issues with the manufacturer. As of May 30, 2008, this item is NOT IN STOCK!!! Don't buy it unless you want to wait.
Roomba works great and easy to use, but poor customer support April 28, 2008 D. L. Herrington (Belle Mead, NJ) I bought this for my wife as a present. When she opened up the package her reaction was disappointment and disbelief. "You got me a robot? I hope you're going to use it!" I fully expected to have to be the one using our Roomba, forever, but this little guy grows on you. After seeing him in action she has warmed up and uses him on a regular basis. We have 4 cats and they basically steer clear of Roomba while he is doing his thing. Although this is really advanced technology at work, using the product is as easy as it gets. You simply make sure his battery is fully charged, put him in the middle of the room you want to start with and press two buttons. The work is not in the Roomba, but preparing the room(s) you want him to clean. When you are vacuuming yourself, you can get away with shifting objects around while you are doing the job; Roomba can't do that. You've got to go over each room to try to make it as easy as possible for Roomba to do a good job, moving chairs to another room, moving the couch so he can get behind it, etc. Roomba really shines with his ability to slip under furniture you would never get when vacuuming by hand. My one complaint so far is that our Roomba's voice has failed and we have only had him for 4 months. (Normally he beeps at you when the dust bin is full or when finished.) iRobot's customer support is R E A L L Y S L O W. I reported the sound failure and it took them 5 days to get back to me saying that to solve the problem I could do a trade for a refurbised unit. They then asked me a lot of questions, some of which I had already answered when filling out the original trouble ticket. It has been 5 days since then and I still don't know how/when I will be able to trade for a fully working model.
