Product Description Leave the cleaning to a robot with this convenient machine. Its 14.4-volt rechargeable Ni-MH battery provides the power needed to clean hard floors, shop carpets, garage and basement areas, as well as industrial-floor surfaces. In addition, specially designed counter-rotating brushes spin almost 1,000 times per minute, sweeping up dirt and debris that cling to rough surfaces. Simply press the "clean" button and the unit sweeps under workbenches, cars, and other hard-to-reach places, picking up nuts, bolts, dirt, and more. For added convenience, "cliff" sensors keep it from falling down stairs or other vertical drops. The unit offers an oversized, bagless, easy-to-empty debris bin, and its power supply fully charges in seven hours. Accessories include a standard battery, a standard charger, a cleaning tool, and an owner's guide. The cleaning machine measures approximately 13 by 13 by 4 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Love it so far January 2, 2009 Gourmet Gardener (Vancouver USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my hubby to keep his "Man Cave" clean, knowing full well that he would think it ridiculous. I charged it up overnight and set it to work as soon as he left for the day. We have a very large garage with a lot of stuff in it and the little guy did a great job. I was mainly interested in getting the dog hair, fir needles, and dirt from under the vehicles, quads,& work benches. It did a great job! I watched it for quite awhile and moved stuff out of its way when necessary, especially cords and plastic bags that would tangle it up. The best thing was watching it go under the tool chest and gobble up several years worth of dirt and dog hair. Finally I decided to leave him alone and went back in the house. I checked back a couple of times and he was still doing great. The third time I found him sitting there emitting a beep. I turned him off, emptied the really full dirt bin, then turned him back on again. Off he went and finished his job. It took about 45-50 minutes to completely clean the whole garage, and the battery was still going strong. I did do two things you were not supposed to do, and the little guy handled those well too. It says not to use it for picking up wet stuff. However, there were wet, dirty areas from snow that had dripped off the cars. It slowed the Dog down a little, but he still picked up the sludge. Also, it says not to use on carpet but my husband has a low-pile rug under his Harley and it cleaned that very well. Granted, I've only used it once but it performed beautifully and I'm very pleased. Even though it says to clean it after 3 uses, I cleaned it thoroughly after the first use because it had so much sludge and dog hair in it. The included cleaning tool is very handy.
Sweeps only NOT a Vacuum December 30, 2008 R Jackson 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I own two of the Roomba 550s and bought two of these Dirt Dogs as Gifts. After setting one up I noticed there is no vacuum. Extremely disappointing. The Dirt Dog SWEEPS only. It doesn't work nearly as well for cleaning as the other model I have. I also noticed that it's logic is a lot simpler. The 550 I have will go around the legs of furniture and hug the walls, the Dirt Dog seems to bounce around randomly. Anyway the Dirt Dog is good for the money and for the shop, but will not keep your house as clean as you want it and keep in mind it does not Vacuum so it does nothing on carpet. Hope this review helps.
LOVE THIS LITTLE GUY December 29, 2008 Lorri R. Genovese (Florida) We have two cats, 3 little dogs and a parrot. I have to sweep my large kitchen at least twice a day. Not any more. Our beloved Mr. Roboto does the job beautifully for us now. I let him go once a day and he has no problem picking up the dirt, the hair and feathers. Even when the floor looks clean, it amazes me how much schumtz he still picks up. The only problem and it's minor to me is my hubbies super long hair gets tangled in the brushes when Mr. Roboto does the bathroom and I do have to clean them a lot. Other than that, love this item and would love to get Scooba next
Changed my life... December 29, 2008 Claudine Sanchez (Phoenix, AZ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This item is amazing! From the first run I was hooked and I felt my life changing. We have hardwood floors and tile in the main areas and two bedrooms with pretty worn down carpet (will be replaced sometime soon). This little beauty works like a charm! The only complaint is that it is a little loud however we seem to have found a solution. We set to clean when we "close up" the house and get into bed to read/watch tv before falling asleep. Then we have the bedroom and office done during the day. Works like a charm! Happy cleaning!
