Product didn't work December 29, 2009 Gregory M. Bell I am still waiting for seller to respond back to me, as the product I purchased didn't work. I gave this item as a gift for xmas so you can imagine my frustration as well as the frustration of the person who received it.
Until I see some action from the seller in this matter, I would reccomend that you DO NOT purchase anything from them.
I love my roomba!! November 5, 2009 Michael Fernandez (Houston, TX) I was very reluctant to buy this Roomba Scheduler because I already have an Oreck for my main vacuum. The reason why I bought this was for my dogs. I have a German Shepard mix and a Lab mix and they leave piles of hair everywhere! Everyday I would have to sweep with a swiffer once in the morning and once before I go to sleep. With the Roomba, I just schedule it to sweep in the morning when I wake up and IT IS GREAT! I don't have to sweep anymore, and I just love watching it go. The most work I have to do is empty the bin out every night because there's so much dog hair.
Granted I don't recommend it to sweep on carpets. I have wood floors and it's easy to pick up hair. I would assume it would be a lot harder for it to pick up dog hair on carpets in general because the suction isn't comparable to a regular vacuum. All in all I love it, I ended up getting a used one on craigslist for under $200. What a steal!!
Doesn't work, what an expensive piece of garbage I got stuck with! September 26, 2009 Sandra Ross (Denver, CO) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
For the first 4-5 times I tried this machine, it worked for maybe 30 whole seconds and stopped. It never ever returned to the base as promised, it never worked for up to 60 minutes as promised...what a piece of garbage. It did seem to suck up some dirt when it was working. I emptied the compartment of any dust, checked and dusted the sensors and now it's just not working at all. I have been robbed!
I bought it used through one of Amazon's marketplace sellers, another big mistake. But it looked brand new in the packaging. Now I am stuck with it. Seller won't reply. I put a claim in but so far, I feel like I wasted nearly $200, if you include shipping and all that! I will never ever use a marketplace seller again. Amazon is great but they obviously don't always work with above board people.
Great Product... Thanks I-Robot Guys !!! May 19, 2009 Manuel Pubillones (Seattle, WA and Ft. Lauderdale, FL) I bought this Roomba (4230) in 2005 and at that time paid around $350 at a specialty store. It was more an item bought because of the technology and not as much as the need for floor cleaning. Coincidentally, most of my co workers have bought Roombas & Scoobas and were very satisfied with these. After four years of nonstop use three times per week, I am very satisfied with the I-Robot product.
The Roomba cleans carpets, wood & tile floors in an amazing manner as long as you use the virtual walls properly since its operational time was only about 40 minutes. The only problem this product had was when trying to go over area rugs and bath mats, where it got stuck. Otherwise, no complains.
My concern on how much the original battery lasted did clear out when I bought a replacement battery one year ago. With this new power device, the cleaning time increased to almost 90 minutes per cycle.
The Roomba continued working great until two months ago when it got wet with a defrosting fridge. I verified all diagnostics published on the Internet and since it seems like an electronic failure, decided on buying the same one from an Amazon reseller for $200 than trying to send it for repair.
I considered the new 560 but the reviews of the problems with the side brushes, discouraged me on buying this new robot and getting a new "old version" which has not arrived yet. In conclusion, although the Roomba is not a reason to fire your cleaning maid, it is an excellent device that will help you keep your floors clean.
Roomba is a cheap piece of junk February 3, 2009 Stephen P. Robb 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Roomba Scheduler is a cheap piece of plastic junk. The reliability is terrible. The roller broke, the platform that holds the rollers broke, the battery died and the gears came to a grinding halt. All within one year. The customer service is the worst. The design is terrible. When I opened it up to try to fix the broken gears I found that the inside of the machine was full of dirt. I threw it in the trash and I will never buy another IRobot product.
